On June 14, 2023, the United States Marshals Service listed Joshua Smiley on the “15 Most Wanted” list. He was the 26 year-old male suspect in an August 2021 shooting death of a man in Mobile, Alabama. On June 20, 2023, about a week after Joshua Smiley was put on the most wanted list, he was peacefully apprehended in Avon, Indiana – a suburb of Indianapolis. It was no big deal. They found him in just a couple of days, called him out, he came out and was arrested with no issues. It was a success. So why did the US Marshals raid Cathy George’s home in Sandy Springs, Georgia three months later?

Cops Respond to the Wrong House at 2 am, Shoot Homeowner Protecting His Family
At around 1:45 a.m., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a 911 call. But because of a dispatch error, officers went to the wrong house. The homeowner, Thomas Simpson, woke up to his dogs barking, armed himself, and stepped into his garage—only to be met with officers who, according to him, never announced they were police. Within moments, shots were fired, and Simpson was hit in the leg.
SWAT Team Arrives 5 Years Too Late, Causes 20K Worth of Damage, Then Refuses to Pay
Kim received an alert on her phone that someone was at her front door. To her surprise, it was a SWAT team with their armored vehicle, about to break down her front door and ransack her home. Eventually, detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department realized they had arrived at least 5 years too late to find their suspect. Leaving behind over 20 grand worth of damage to Kim’s home, they offered no explanation, no apology, and refused to pay for the damage they caused.
